Medieval World History (7th) & U.S. History (8th)

Warm greetings! I’m delighted to be your child’s middle school history and/or AVID teacher this year. I began my journey as an educator in 2008, and ever since, I’ve had the privilege of teaching middle school students—a role that truly energizes and inspires me every day.

Together, we will develop the skills to think and write like historians. This means learning to:

• Ask meaningful questions about who, what, when, where, and especially why historical events occurred.
• Evaluate primary and secondary sources critically.
• Construct clear, evidence-based arguments through engaging writing and thoughtful discussion.

In our classroom, your child will learn to see the past through multiple lenses, develop curiosity-driven inquiry, and communicate ideas with clarity and confidence. My goal is that by the end of the year, each student will not only gain deeper insights into history, but also sharpen skills like analysis, empathy, and persuasive writing—tools that serve well beyond the classroom walls.
